Madrid, Aug 15 (EFE) .- The Spanish player Carla Suárez will not participate in the Cincinnati tournament, which this year is held in New York, and remains in “general rest”, taking care of herself, so she will decide her contest at the Open of the United States, which begins on August 31 in this same city, in the next few days, reports his press office.
A “medical illness that she has been suffering in recent weeks” has forced Carla to make this decision, taking into account that the preliminary phase of the Masters 1,000 tournament begins on August 20.
“The Canary Islands, who have gone through outbreaks of general discomfort in their training routines, is subject to the evolution of their clinical picture in the coming days,” the note adds.
“During the last weeks I have not been able to train normally due to the internal sensations that physical activity produces in me,” says Carla from Barcelona, where her preparation plan has been interrupted since the middle of July. “This has prevented me from completing training sessions on the track and has greatly limited my activity in the gym,” he continues.
Suárez has undergone different medical tests to try to identify the origin of his symptoms, without a clear diagnosis to date. This next week a PET CT scan will be performed to explore the thoracic area, in order to determine the cause of the discomfort.
“I will follow the medical recommendations at all times. This next week I need to complete more tests and this forces me to postpone my planned trip to New York, “says Carla.
“We are going to observe the evolution of these days, the results of these check-ups and that will determine my decision about the US Open,” concludes the Canarian player.
