Coronavirus: There were 8713 infections and 33 deaths in the Czech Republic on Saturday


Since the beginning of the pandemic, 168,827 people have been infected with coronavirus in the Czech Republic.

In the Czech Republic, there were 8713 infections and 33 deaths from a new type of coronavirus on Saturday. This is a record increase in the number of infected, which was recorded over the weekend, when fewer people are usually tested. The portal informed about it with reference to the data of the Czech Ministry of Health.

The Czech Minister of Health Roman Prymula stated that the impact of the introduced measures on the rising trend in the number of infected will not manifest itself until two weeks later. In the middle of the week, the daily increase in those infected in the Czech Republic exceeded 9,000 for the first time, and on Friday more than 11,000 were added.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 168,827 people have been infected with the new coronavirus in the Czech Republic, of whom 1,352 have succumbed to the infection. Half of the victims died during October. So far, 68,945 people have been cured of COVID-19 in the Czech Republic. Currently, 98,530 people are infected in the Czech Republic, of which 3,415 are hospitalized. Since the end of September, the number of patients in hospitals has tripled and the number of people hospitalized in a serious condition is three times higher.

Due to the unfavorable development of the epidemic, stricter epidemiological measures have been in force throughout the Czech Republic since Wednesday. All schools from primary to tertiary have switched to distance education, with the exception of classes for children with special needs. Restaurants, bars and clubs are closed. A maximum of six people can gather. Most of the measures are valid until 3 November, ie until the end of the emergency. The schools are to be closed by November 1.
