The Ljubljana Clinical Center UKC shared the words of the director on Facebook Janez Poklukar, which draws attention to what awaits us in the coming weeks. As he wrote, we will go in the coming weeks “through our generation never seen before and through something that no one could prepare us for. In two to three weeks, we will live a period full of impossible obstacles. Although I want to be wrong, the statistics in the event of an epidemic are unfortunately usually infallible, ”he said. The director sees the virus as a parasite of humanity that ignores the differences between us and spreads regardless of the borders of countries or municipalities. “He doesn’t care if we’re in the autumn of life, entrepreneurial stars at the peak of their power, or young people in their prime. He is not interested in the number we circled or did not circle last election Sunday. He doesn’t care if we believe in him or not. He attacks everyone in solidarity, the oldest will only be the first among the victims. Even today, self-evident interventions will be difficult to achieve, as all staff will be focused on saving lives in an epidemic, “Poklukar is convinced.

As the director of the UKC points out, humanity has already overcome the greatest challenges of the past – black goats, the Spanish flu and Nazism. “We performed together on the first day of our statehood, which, regardless of the differences, propelled us forward. As humans, we won because we knew how to protect the weakest man. We will end the fight as winners this time as well, because we will respond in solidarity. ”

Once again to Planica and to concerts

Poklukar believes that one day we will be able to once again encourage our eagles in Planica, celebrate the New Year in the crowds of the city streets and group garden behind the home. Skiing, trips to the sea or visits to concerts and theaters will be taken for granted again. Masks will again become just a carnival custom.”We will not be led there by the great deeds of great individuals, but on the contrary – the small sacrifices of each of us. In solidarity in struggle, determination and hope, we will succeed. Even in these difficult conditions, a new life is born – the first smile a newborn sees through a spacesuit is no less sincere. ”

He also thanked everyone for their help, encouragement and support. He also reminded that health professionals can only help as much as the community behind them helps them.
