Since the beginning of the pandemic, 175,766 people have been infected in Poland. In total, coronavirus-related health complications have so far claimed 3,573 victims. 92,651 patients (+2489) were cured of coronavirus infection.
Of the beds reserved in Polish hospitals for patients diagnosed with COVID-19, 8076 are occupied – 464 more patients were added. 649 patients are connected to respirators – the day before there were 604 of them.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced on Thursday the tightening of measures in some parts of the country and called on citizens to “stayed at home “, if it’s possible.
He wrote on social media on Saturday that Poland had not chosen the wrong path to building collective immunity and that it was not following some countries that had decided to introduce another lockdown. According to him, the country went the middle way. He added that only humans can stop the spread of the virus. Referring to an article published in the prestigious medical journal The Lancet, he admitted that all concerns about the coronavirus had been met. “Our actions and strategies implemented in Poland are based on the guidelines defined in this article. Wash your hands, keep safe distances and wear towels. Don’t listen to the demagogues. Protect yourself and your loved ones,” added.
